Writerly Snack & My Rough Draft (Story)

I got this quiz off of Myra McEntire's blog

Here are my result:

(As you can see something freaky is going on with my font. So I tried to make this post readable. If you can't read it please please let me know. Thanks)

Annie's Result: Popcorn and Pretzels
on quiz: What Kind of Writerly Snack Are You?

Who: Hipsters and Rebels

When: When you’re spending more time perusing Cracked or
Huffington than writing that thing you’re supposed to be writing. Or searching
for the newest band on the scene so you can be the first to discover – then dump
– them.

Why: Just. Need. To. Munch. Brewer’s yeast, sea salt caramel
and spicy red pepper popcorn for the tragically hip and deluded. Pretzels
because they’re cheap and less common than chips. Plain popcorn eaters may see
their way out, thx.

Wow scary. It's true I go looking for something else to do other then write. I think I'm scare I'm wasting my time. I mean when I look back over my story (big mistake) and I see are the mistakes (what missing [like i need more details) and I worry that my characters are not alive and beliveable)
Here the thing i KNOW I'M NOT WASTING MY TIME. I love creating the story and its part of who I am creating stories. I still have a lot to learn about writing them down. The only way to do that is to write and learn from my mistakes.
Also I have to remind myself what I'm looking over is my very very rough first draft or as I like to call it my long outline lol.
BTW
I plan to write today and I plan to post about the experience (at least post my word count. lol)

2010 Summer of Road Work

I don't know how the roads are in your area but here they're messed up by road work. I try to avoid it but just keep running into more of it. (Well really I have found ways around it [the long way]) I head to Florence, Alabama from my house I run into just down the street from my house, and when I head to work in Tuscumbia, I run into it either in Sheffield or Muscle Shoals (yes that how the city spelled it name [I think it was suppose to be Mussle Shoals).
Really I like that they are fixing up the roads around here really I do. just wish I didn't run into it in every direction I go.

Book review – Leaving Gee’s Bend

Leaving Gee's Bend
Here’s a story about a little piece of land in Alabama, Gee’s Bend, now called Boykin, Alabama.

It has a slow beginning, but once the main character, Ludelphia Bennett started her journey to Camden in order to save her mama, the pace picked up and story grabbed my interest. At that point I was on the adventure with Lu.
My favorite part is the chapter The Witches of Gee’s Bend.
The ending is worth the slow beginning.
Cover Art: 5 stars
Beginning: 3 stars
Ending: 5 stars
Now I’m wondering what’s next for Irene Latham…another historical? Maybe something contemporary? Whatever she writes next it’s on my reading list.

Princess For Hire Review

Princess For Hire

From inside cover:
When a flawlessly dressed woman steps out of an iridescent bubble and wants to know, like, now if you like to become a substutute princess, do you
a) run
b) faint
c) say yes!
For Desi Bascomb, who's been longing for a bit of glamour in her Idaho life, the choice a definite c)-that is, once she can stop pinching herself. As her new agent, Meredith, explains, Desi has a rare magical ability: when she applies the ancient Egyptian formula "Royal Rouge," she can tranform temporarity into the exact look-a-like of any princess who needs her subbing services. Dream come true, right?
Well, Desi soon discovers that subbing involves a lot more then wearing a tiara and waving at cameras. Like, what do you do when a bullying older sister puts you on a heinous crash diet? Or when the tribal villagers gather to watch you preform a ceremonial dance you don't know? Or when a princess's conflicted sweetheart shows up to break things off - and you'r sure she would want you to change his mind?
In this hilarious, winning debut, one girl's dream of glamour transforms into something bigger : the desire to make a positive impact. And an impact Desi makes, one royal fiasco at a time.
Review: I enjoyed the book Princess For Hire.

Sorry I forgot to write a review right after I finish reading it.

First the fairy Godmother Meredith is not your disney bubbly fairy godmother, not at all. In fact you have to wonder about the bubbly fairy godmother once you meet one in this story.

Desi, the heroine is a teenager in need of a friend or two, she wish to make a different in the world. Her way of course!

I want one of her self design t-shirt!

This book is an awsome must-read full of magical moments!

I can't wait for the next book! I hate that I have to wait a whole year!

I give this book 4 1/2 stars.
I give the cover 5 stars.
so what books have you read lately?

Until next time,

Annie

P.S. happy reading and writing!
